This eye-opening documentary looks at an act of resistance and the people who found a way to preserve their culture, memories and humanity by having “imaginary feasts”.  This little-known phenomenon saw prisoners secretly sharing their favourite recipes in Nazi concentration camps, Russian Gulags and Japanese war camps.  These were copied into small notebooks, scraps of paper and even onto fabric, hidden and remarkably smuggled out of the camps.  These recipes are a testament to the unimaginable resilience and will to survive of people who took huge risks to preserve them.
